Some stuff I wished i knew when I started building robots.
In no specific order:
Shock-mounting electronics with foam or shock absorbers
Epoxy your magnets
Epoxy you windings
Wearing in motors and check the timing (brushed)
Tape or zip tie all your connectors
Lock bound all your screws and nuts if possible
Charge your Transmitter battery!
Be smart in placing your receiver and antennas (https://www.rchelicopterfun.com/rc-antenna.html)
Use a rx battery not a BEC
Be routinely about maintenance and repairs have checklists if possible
